Evidence of V Wins a Minnesota Book Award!

WOOHOO! Evidence of V: A Novel in Fragments, Facts, and Fictions by Sheila O’Connor, has won the novel/short story category of the Minnesota Book Awards! Winners were announced Tuesday night in a virtual live-streamed ceremony. Huge congratulations to Sheila, who worked so hard on this book and who has continued, since writing it, to advocate for the survivors of the state institutions like the one her grandmother endured. Here’s the video of the awards ceremony: the novel/short story winner announcement and Sheila’s speech are at around 1:08. You can also watch/listen to her Meet the Finalists interview here.

We’re proud to have published this important book and grateful that Evidence of V has reached so many readers and has received wonderful reviews and a number of accolades. Evidence of V is also a finalist for the Foreword INDIES Book of the Year awards and the Northeastern Minnesota Books Awards (NEMBA)—winners for those contests have yet to be announced. A big thank you to so many of you, our RMP supporters, who have also championed and recommended this book!

Congratulations again to Sheila! And to all the other winners and finalists of the Minnesota Book Awards!
